I'm very pleased with this receiver. I'm not an audiophile so can't speak to how it compares to higher-end units, but the sound it delivers to my Kef Q100's is full, warm and clear. I bought this particular receiver, though, because of its wireless connectivity, in particular AirPlay. After mounting frustration with bluetooth connectivity across a range of devices, I'm pleased to report that the AirPlay connection between my iPhone, iPad and Mac with this receiver has been stable and flawless (at least after a few days of regular use). The receiver's connection to wifi has also been very stable. I was able to share my wifi settings from my phone to the receiver and was connected in less than a minute.
The receiver also has a nice standby feature where it clicks off and goes into standby mode after sitting idle for awhile. The Onkyo TX-8020 is an unusually inexpensive stereo amplifier, with only a small number of frills. I was able to get the machine up and running with only a few minutes of set-up time, where I plugged in my speakers, compact disc player, Bang and Olufsen Biogram TX2 phonograph, the AM antenna and FM antenna that come with the Onkyo receiver, and of course the power. Then, the first thing I did was pop in a disc featuring Schumann's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, as recorded by Murray Perahia. The volume knob goes up to '80' and I found that a setting of about '70' did a great job at filling a living room of dimensions of 15 feet by 30 feet with abundant quantities of glorious sound! The rear of the unit has sockets for the AM antenna and FM antenna (which come with the unit), fasteners. This review is for the A-S301, as Amazon seems to lump all the reviews for all the models together.

I wanted to build a small 2ch system for music in my small office. Keeping to a budget under $400 I was cross shopping this with the NAD C 316BEE and the Cambridge Audio Azur 351. The connectivity options won out (the NAD would need a phono preamp, and both a DAC.
I realize the Cambridge has one, but its USB only. I needed the Optical and Coax connectors for my equipment). The Yamaha, on paper anyways, also had more power which, while not important for my use, was a bonus.
Even though the Yamaha was a much bigger and bulkier amp, I went for it. As I said in the headline, the item works great, but I had to replace my first one.
The first one, while working perfectly. Excellent sound and plenty of power with very low distortion, Using with a Techniques phonograph/turntable, as well as digital inputs for DVD/CD player, and optical input for connecting TV. Bass and Treble controls make tuning the sound for various types of music and media as well as various sound levels quick and easy and allows plenty of adjustment range. There is also option to by-pass the bass and treble controls to play without any adjustments for sound purity. In addition to great sound for audio playback, I get good clear sound for voices when used for DVD playback or direct from TV with optical cable, which can be an issue with home theatre systems. Remote is handy and easy to use.
Got this for my classroom. Not an audiophile by any means and certainly didn't need the latest greatest features (along with accompanying higher cost). For what I paid, $150 on Amazon before sales tax, I'm very impressed with what it offers and can do. Installed it in my classroom today.
Connected it to a pair of old Sony bookshelf speakers which I got around 10 years ago. Specifically got this receiver because the old Onkyo I previously used (still working even though it must be from 1980s or 1990s) was unable to handle audio input from my classroom desktop computer even though I had gotten an adapter cable that had a 3.5mm jack on one end and two RCA (red/white) plugs on the other end. Wanted to use the bookshelf speakers instead of the weak external speakers provided by school for whenever I would need audio during a lesson, video. John R Glace Review on FM antenna connection is spot on,its weak. Some of us still use FM radio for news and entertainment.Had to splice/cobble rabbit ears to it to get decent reception.
Provided wire antenna was very inadequate for my area.Other than this, all functions are nominal. I have cassette tape deck, CD player, record player, line in 3.5mm, and blue tooth all sound great!Paired well with two sets of Sony bookshelf speakers.(50 watts RMS each) Speaker wiring polarity is paramount for proper sound. Will it blow the neighbors windows out? NO, but at mid levels of volume we like! For this price point it is a solid replacement for my old unit. I have had good luck with Sony sound products for years, hope this one lasts.
As a classical music lover with an extensive stereo-only CD collection, I have been content with a basic system in my study consisting of a receiver, CD player, and tape deck. My receiver recently died.
Given my record collection, the current state of classic-music releases and my age (78), it make no sense to opt for a whole surround sound system. Thus, my needs are specialized. After much surfing at all the logical sources, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that simple stereo receivers are still made and sold at current dollar prices below those I paid for either of my earlier purchases.
My checking clearly indicated that the Sony receiver selected had more than enough power and features to meet my needs, and that pricier alternatives only added features that I would not use. It is convenient to use and works well with my speaker system. As usual for.
I bought both of these, but not as a set and hooked them up to my cerwin vega vs100s. ( a bit much speaker for this amp). I have not bought a cd are downloaded any music since, both sources sound so shallow to me now. I'm into classic rock and it didn't take long to realize that's the way its supposed to sound and I lost 25 years to cds I should have ignored in the 80s. These two components are a very cost effective way of getting a proficient way to play records. Also I live in kind of rural setting and the tuner does a good job of pulling in stations.
In, a default option, credit default swaption or credit default option is an to buy protection (payer option) or sell protection (receiver option) as a on a specific reference credit with a specific maturity. The option is usually, exercisable only at one date in the future at a specific defined as a coupon on the credit default swap.Credit default options on single credits are extinguished upon default without any cashflows, other than the upfront premium paid by the buyer of the option. Therefore, buying a payer option is not a good protection against an actual default, only against a rise in the credit spread.
This may explain why such options are very illiquid. They may also feature quite high implied volatilities, as shown by (2005). However options on credit indices such as and include any defaulted entities in the intrinsic value of the option when exercised. This is expressed at times by stating that the options offer 'front-end protection'. Proper inclusion of front end protection complicates index options valuation, see for example (2003), or Brigo and Morini (2008).See also.References. Brigo, Damiano (January 2005).
